こんにちは。ダーレン・アロノフスキーはアメリカ合衆国出身らしいです。そして僕はやっぱりこの監督が好きです。映像は「マザー！」（2017）と同じく、基本的にカメラが主人公から離れず、ハンディカムでドキュメントっぽい印象を受けます。今敏好きを公言していることもあり、夢と現実が入り交じる映像は凄いです。それと感覚的に痛い映画でした。深爪や指の皮を剥ぐシーンなど、観ていて痛かったです。あとダーレン・アロノフスキーの特徴として無意味なホラー演出が随所にあります。いや無意味ではないかもしれません。というか僕は普通のホラー映画のジャンプスケアよりも、こういう上品な驚かし方の方が好きです。観ていて思ったのは、というかこれは最近の映画を観ていて感じることですが、性的な描写が過剰に入っていることです。結論からいえば、それは我々が映像表現に対して求めるハードルが上がっているからだと思います。例えば昔の映画ならば、勿論映倫の問題もあったと思いますが、ベットシーンも男女が抱擁して、暗転朝になるみたいな感じだったものがそれでは満足出来なくなってしまったのだと思います。
