こんにちは。鳥山明は「ドラゴンボール」（1984）が有名過ぎてこちらの「Dr.スランプ」（1980）が忘れられがちですが僕は絵としてはこちらの方が好きです。言うまでもなく上手いのですが本当に嫌味なく上手いというか正直言えばこんな感じに憧れています。毎話扉絵があるのですが本編のタッチとは少し異なったデザインの色々な実験を楽しんでいます。アラレちゃんの頭身が一巻ではまだ三頭身なのですが回を重ねるにつれ二頭身になっていきます。インターネットで少し調べてみて誰も言及していなかったのですがこの漫画は谷岡ヤスジのあの牧歌的な世界観を継承しています。物語の始まり方は太陽が日の出を告げたり人外の生物が状況を伝えたり背景の丸い地平線や山や家や車などアンパンマンの顔の丸は安心感を与えるためと聞いたことがありますが漫画を読んでいて安心する変な漫画です。他にもこういう絵柄の漫画はあると思いますが鳥山明の画力でこの閉じた円環をなしている世界を作ると不思議な味わいになります。ギャグ漫画はある程度それは赤塚不二夫が始めたことかもしれませんがメタフィクション的な物語の登場人物が物語の世界を自覚している発言をします。漫画とは本来これぐらい自由にあるべきでだからこそ漫画である意義があるのだと社会的な意味はなくともそのナンセンスが漫画なのだと思います。

凄く面白い漫画ですがやはり下ネタが多いことが「ドラゴンボール」ほど人気を得なかった原因かと思います。最近つくづく思うのですが、少しエロいだけで敬遠されていてでも滅茶苦茶面白いものが世の中には沢山あります。この「Dr.スランプ」もそういう目線を捨ててみればとても普遍的で様々な漫画的な実験に富んだ素晴らしい芸術作品です。
It's a very interesting manga, but I think the reason why it didn't get as popular as "Dragon Ball" is that it has a lot of dirty jokes. I've been thinking a lot lately, but there are a lot of things in the world that are just a little bit erotic and are avoided, but are ridiculously funny. If you look at this "Dr. Slump" from that perspective, it is a wonderful work of art that is very universal and rich in various cartoon-like experiments.

今日鳥山明の訃報を知りました。びっくりしました。僕は今また「ドラゴンボールGT」（1996）を観ています。メルカリでDVDボックスを買ったのですが特典として付属していた冊子に鳥山明が描いたギルの絵があってそれが余りにも上手くて笑ってしまいました。御冥福をお祈りします。
