こんにちは。何故この映画を観たかというと、黒沢清とポン・ジュノのリチャード・フライシャーの「絞殺魔」（1968）についてのトークセッションで、この「殺人の追憶」（2003）について触れられていたからです。観た率直な感想は面白かったです。僕は普段こういうサスペンス活劇をあまり観ていない、ということもありますが、日本映画でも、洋画でもない不思議な韓国映画の撮影方法も相まってとても新鮮な印象を受けました。物語で使われているアイテムやギミックは古典的でよくある手法です。例えば犯人の目印の赤いパンツを見つけるシーンでのスローモーションや、ジョナサン・デミの「羊たちの沈黙」（1991）のような謎めいた遺留品、いくら探しても犯人が見つからない展開などはよくあるといえば、そうなのですが、それは僕がこの映画以降の作品を多く観ているからでしょう。またこの映画では刑事たちの微妙な力関係が面白いです。途中からソウルから派遣されるエリートっぽいソ刑事（キム・サンギョン）、暴力的でそれが災いし破傷風で足を切断することになったヨング刑事（キム・レハ）、そして主人公の少し抜けているパク刑事（ソン・ガンホ）たちが、呉越同舟というか、仲が悪いながらも目的を共にして村の中で犯人を追いかけるシーンは結構胸が熱くなりました。知的障害者に対する振る舞いも、現実では絶対に駄目ですが、フィクションの世界においてそれによって色々表現出来ることがあるならば、良いと思っています。結局犯人が誰だったのか、グァンホ（パク・ノシク）が写真を見た時の驚いたようなそして恐れるような反応をどう考えるか、僕は分かりませんが、個人的には結末よりそれまでの話が面白かったので満足でした。
Hello. The reason I watched this movie was because Kiyoshi Kurosawa and Richard Fleischer of Bong Joon-ho mentioned "Memories of Murder" (2003) in a talk session about "The Boston Strangler" (1968). The frank impression I saw was interesting. I don't usually watch this kind of suspense swashbuckler, but I got a very fresh impression because of the way I shot mysterious Korean movies that are neither Japanese nor Western movies.The items and gimmicks used in the story are classic and common techniques. For example, slow motion in the scene of finding the red pants that mark the criminal, mysterious relics such as Jonathan Demme's "The Silence of the Lambs" (1991), and the development where the criminal cannot be found no matter how much you look for. If so, that's probably because I've seen a lot of works since this movie.Also, the delicate power relationship of the detectives is interesting in this movie.An elite-like detective Seo (Kim Sang-kyung) dispatched from Seoul on the way, a detective Young-gu (Kim Roi-ha) who was violent and had to amputate his leg due to tetanus, and a little missing from the main character. The scene where detectives Park (Song Kang-ho) and others are chasing the criminal in the village with the same purpose, even though they are not close to each other, is quite exciting.Behavior for people with intellectual disabilities is absolutely useless in reality, but I think it would be good if there were various things that could be expressed in the world of fiction. I don't know who the culprit was after all, or what Gwangho (Park No-shik) thinks of the surprising and frightening reaction when he sees the photo, but personally, from the end to that point. I was happy because the story was interesting.
