こんにちは。初めてメルカリを使って手に入れました。そしてつくづく幼い頃の記憶は当てにならないものだと思いました。僕が強烈に覚えていた「ナメクジおばさん」も全く僕が思っていた話とは違っていて、何故子供の頃そんなに恐怖を抱いたのか、今となっては不思議なものです。ですがこの「学校の怖い噂」（1994）のレビューを読んでいると、数少ない中に僕と同じ様に「ナメクジおばさん」のことに触れている方がいて、子供には引っ掛かるポイントがあったのでしょうか。絵は上手くありませんが、ホラーにおいては上手さよりも気持ち悪さの方が重要だったりするので、パースが少々崩れているくらいが丁度良いのかもしれません。永井豪の「デビルマン」（1972）とかもそうですが、ホラーにおいては伊藤潤二が上手すぎてあれをやってしまうと、他の漫画家は何も出来ないくらいホラーにおけるポジションを独占している感じがします。

もう少し思い出してみると、僕がこの本に初めて出会ったのは小学生の時に学童保育所で出会ったのが最初だと思います。その時は子供も多かったので、多分ブックカバーを誰かが破ったのか、本来はこの本はかなり漫画チックな表紙になっていますが、それが取れて下地の薄茶色の装丁の怪しげな本だという雰囲気がありました。それも相まって余計に怖かったのかもしれません。
