こんにちは。北野武作品は僕の世代だと、「アウトレイジ」（2010）のイメージが強いです。なので僕はフランシス・フォード・コッポラの「ゴッドファーザー」（1972）のような整然とした映画を作る人だと思いこんでいたため、何気なくYouTubeで今作を観始めてかなり衝撃を受けました。この映画は調べてみると北野武作品の中でも異色に入る部類らしく、変ですがそれで少し安心しました。ファーストカットの闇に浮かぶ柳ユーレイからこの映画が普通の映画では無いことを予感させます。しかしそこから淡々と野球のシーンが続きます。僕はバットを振るカットが映るたびに、バットで誰かの頭が殴られないか心配するほど、不穏な雰囲気が漂いながら話は進みます。主人公は少し知恵遅れなのか、または芸名がユーレイなので幽霊とかけているのか、作中では無口で透明な存在です。北野武なのでその可能性は大きい気がします。また主人公の恋人役の石田ゆり子も無口で透明な存在です。省略の文脈は北野映画の持ち味だと勝手に思っているのですが、この映画では特に顕著です。構図もとても芸術的で、レオス・カラックスの映画に似ています。北野武自身、途中から登場しますが、女性に対する振る舞いや、黒人差別のような描写、ホモセクシャルっぽい表現など、様々なタブーの化身のような男です。殴り込みに行く前に花畑に行きますが、その前にフラッシュバックのような演出が入ります。ここは「CURE」（1997）にも同じような演出がありました。

この映画は「その男、凶暴につき」（1989）の次に撮られた北野武としては二本目の映画です。「その男、凶暴につき」はどちらかというと、エンターテインメントに寄せているのですが、この「3-4X10月」（1990）では完全に芸術に寄せています。映画後半の沖縄で、浜辺でキャッチボールをしているときに、同じショットでカットをする、人物が画面内で瞬間移動する割と禁じ手みたいな手法が使われていました。北野映画はもう少し観てみます。YouTubeで「あの夏、いちばん静かな海」（1991）を少し観ました。
