こんにちは。関係ない話ですが、amazonで頼んだ本が全部届きました。ショーン・タンの「アライバル」とマリー・ポンメテュイとセバスチャン・コセットの「ビューティフル・ダークネス」はずっと欲しかった本だったのでとても嬉しいです。「ビューティフル・ダークネス」は英語版ですが、比較的簡単な英文が多く、僕でも頑張れば読めそうな感じです。漫画の良いところで文章の意味が理解できなくても、絵をみればどういう状況でそれを言っているかで、なんとなく見当がつきます。ポップなキャラクターと残酷な現実描写のコントラストが見事です。まだ全部は読んでいませんが、ゆっくり読んでいきます。この映画は高畑勲が絶賛していたので観ました。漫画でいう実線のない特徴的なカラーリングが面白いです。ストーリーはよくある話ですが、こういう実験的なアニメーションで見せられると、また違った趣のある映像になります。ロシアの話ということでレフ・アタマーノフの「雪の女王」（1957）も思い出しました。監督のレミ・シャイエのインタビューも少し読んだのですが、確かにこういうテーマを扱う場合は大抵主人公が男の子が多い、というのは納得できます。あえて性別をひっくり返すことで、逆に面白くなったりすることもあるかもしれません。

Shaun Tan's "Arrival" and Marie Pommetui and Sebastian Cosset's "Beautiful Darkness" were the books I've always wanted, so I'm very happy. "Beautiful Darkness" is an English version, but there are many relatively simple English sentences, and even I feel like I can read it if I try my best. Even if you can't understand the meaning of sentences in a good place in a manga, if you look at the picture, you have an idea of what kind of situation you're saying it. The contrast between pop characters and cruel reality depiction is wonderful. I haven't read it all yet, but I'll read it slowly. I watched this movie because Isao Takahata praised it. The characteristic coloring without solid lines in comics is interesting. The story is a common story, but if you show it with such an experimental animation, it will be a different quaint image. I also remembered Lev Atamanov's "Snow Queen" (1957) because of the Russian story. I also read a little interview with director Remi Shire, but it's true that there are usually many boys in dealing with such a theme. If you dare to turn your gender upside down, it may be interesting.
