こんにちは。何故この映画を観ようと思ったかというと、エドワード・ヤンの「牯嶺街少年殺人事件」（1991）がとても好きで、いつかアジア系の映画をちゃんと観てみたいと思っていたからです。チャウ・シンチーの「少林サッカー」（2001）や「カンフーハッスル」（2004）などは好きですが、アジア系の映画はこれまで何故かあまり観ていませんでした。「男たちの挽歌」（1986）はキリンジの「牡牛座ラプソディ」の歌詞に出てくることから何となく借りてみました。 この映画は色々タイトルが国によって変わっていて、原題の「英雄本色」は日本語で英雄の本来の姿、という意味で英題の「A BETTER TOMORROW」は日本語で明日の発展、という意味です。いつものように他の方の感想をいくつか読んで思ったことを書きます。僕の感想としては映像は良いですが話があまりにもチープだな、という感じです。本当に日本で1990年代に流行ったトレンディードラマのような言ってしまえば古臭い演出が多いです。調べてみて気づいたのですが、日本でも香港でも同じくらいの年代にこういう演出が流行っているので世界的にそういう風潮だったのでしょうか。他の方の感想にも書いてあったことですが、全体的に熱い映画です。顔のアップも多いですし、なんというか原哲男の「北斗の拳」（1983）みたいな印象です。男同士の絆、友情などがメインで描かれています。映画に出てくる銃火器は本物を使用しているらしく、僕はミリタリーファンではないので詳しくは分かりませんが、観る人によってはそういう見どころがあります。あと始まり方が押井守の「機動警察パトレイバー the movie」（1989）にすごく似ていました。これは押井守の方が影響を受けたのかもしれません。香港ノワール、という触れ込みで初めは観たので正直もっと暗い感じを想像していたら見事に肩透かしを食らいました。こういうアクションムービーは色々考えて観るのではなくアトラクションのように巻き込まれて一気に観るのが良いですね。

As it was written in other people's impressions, it's a hot movie overall. There are a lot of faces up, and it's kind of like Tetsuo Hara's "Fist of the North Star" (1983). It mainly depicts bonds between men and friendships. The firearms in the movie seem to be using the real thing, and I'm not a military fan, so I don't know the details, but depending on the viewer, there are such attractions. And the way it started was very similar to Mamoru Oshii's "Mobile Police Patlabor the movie" (1989). This may have been influenced by Mamoru Oshii. I saw it at first with the touch of Hong Kong Noir, so honestly, if I imagined a darker feeling, I got a splendid shoulder watermark. It's good to be caught up in an attraction and watch this kind of action movie at once instead of thinking about various things.
