こんにちは。映画の邦題によくあるのですが、原題と全く違うタイトルになっているものがたまにあります。例えばクリント・イーストウッドの「ハドソン川の奇跡」（2016）は原題は「SULLY」です。この「サスペリアPARTⅡ」（1975）の場合はもっと酷く、「サスペリア」（1977）よりも先に公開されているにも関わらず、その当時日本で「サスペリア」が流行っていた、という理由で「サスペリアPARTⅡ」となってしまいました。本当の原題は「Deep Red 」です。僕はかなりこの映画が好きです。メインストーリーはミステリーなのですが、好きなのはそれ以外の演出です。主人公のマーク（デヴィッド・ヘミングス）について回る新聞記者のジャンナ（ダリア・ニコロディ）のキャラクターがまず良いです。二人の関係は恋人のようでもあり夫婦のようでもあります。車でのやりとりや腕相撲の下りなど、かなり勝ち気や女性ですが、コロっと感情が変わったりするところなどが可愛いです。それと恐怖演出は今観てもかなり気持ち悪いです。これはホラーにおいては褒め言葉です。この映画の何が好きなのか、自分でもよくわかりませんが、話のテンポが僕に合っているからかも知れません。割りとダラダラとした展開もありますが、所々でショットがちゃんとあることが良いです。色々なギミックが登場しますが、どれも後年のホラー作品に頻出するようなもので、スプラッター、人形、子供の描いた絵、多重人格、ミスリードとどんでん返しなど、セオリーを全て抑えつつ上手くまとまった映画だと思いました。
