こんにちは。山窩について調べていて行き着いたのがこの映画でした。1985年の作品ですが、まだ日本にこんなに古き良きロケーションがあったのか、というくらいに風景が美しい映画です。序盤の展開が伊予の方言なのか全く理解できなくて困りましたが、後にテロップで説明されて助かりました。この映画は中島貞夫の長年の大作だったようで、まるで原作付きの映画のような山窩の細かい生活描写がありました。単純に冬の寒い山の中を薄着で、とか氾濫している川の中で演技している役者とかを観ていると、リアリティというか最早それはリアルなので映像に観入ってしまいます。そして萩原健一が格好良いです。「前略おふくろ様」（1975）でも一緒だった室田日出男も出ています。ショーケンは体格のバランスが良いです。この映画の白眉は藤田弓子が村の祭りの真ん中で娘との結婚を頼むシーンです。ここでそれまで水面下で対立していた柳田國男的に言えば常民と山窩との軋轢が爆発します。そして藤田弓子の狂気を孕んだ怒りが恐ろしいです。説得のために同じ台詞を3回繰り返すのですが、次第に言葉の意味を失って呪文のようにそれを言い続ける表情が怖いです。

The highlight of this movie is the scene where Yumiko Fujita asks her daughter to marry her in the middle of her village festival.At this point, the conflict between Tsunetami and Yamato, who had been in conflict behind the scenes until then, exploded. And Yumiko Fujita's madness is terrifying. To persuade her, she repeats the same line three times, but it's scary to see her expression gradually lose the meaning of the words and keep saying it like a spell.
