こんにちは。漫画を描いていて、ふと自分のしていることを顧みた時に、僕はなぜこんなことをしているのか分からなくなる時があります。思えば僕はそんなに熱狂的に漫画が好きなわけではありませんし、とか考えているとやはり原点回帰というか、漫画というそもそもの形をもう一度良く理解する必要があると思い至りました。夏目房之介の「漫画はなぜ面白いのか」というNHKで放送された番組がYouTubeに上がっています。これ非常に興味深い内容で、しかも大学の講義のようなシンプルな構成が良いです。漫画をなぜ描くのか、という問いの答えを発見できるかもしれません。僕はひとりで描いているので、時々こういう軌道修正というか、有識者の意見などをきちんと聞いて自分の進路を修正する必要があると思っています。
