髙畑勲監督作品 かぐや姫の物語について Directed by Isao Takahata About Story of Princess Kaguya


こんにちは。何故か節目で見返したくなる作品です。何度観ても解らないこともありますし、観る度に表現の美しさ、アニメーションの美しさを感じます。アニメーションは技術を追い求めると、どれだけ作画を描き込んだかに行きがちですが、この映画の画面には余白が多く残されています。ベテランの余裕というか、簡単な線でここまで魅せることが出来るのだと思い知らされます。よく日本料理は引き算、フランス料理は足し算といいますが、フランスの文化に精通した日本人の髙畑勲の感性はその両方を併せ持っていて、本当に素晴らしいです。この映画は何がそんなに良いのか自分でもいまいちよく解らないので一度あらすじを書いてみて気持ちを整理したいと思います。冒頭、有名な書き出しから物語は始まります。竹から産まれたヒメは普通の子どもより早く成長します。ヒメが成長していく中で出てくる名もなき人々の暮らしぶりが、物語の厚みを持たせています。ヒメが都に行くように物語は進んでいきます。それは翁が竹から金貨や美しい着物を授かったことや、捨丸の台詞、物語を通して映される月などから分かります。後半明らかになるのですが、ヒメは月から降ろされた存在で月はヒメをずっと監視しています。この映画ではヒメが何度も喜んで悲しんでを繰り返します。喜怒哀楽を持たない月の人間との対比だと思われますが、ヒメの喜んでいるシーンを観ると、先の展開を知っている僕はとても切なくなります。髙畑勲の得意なある運命に向かって進んでいく主人公を非常に客観的に描く演出が効いています。都に行ってからヒメは相模という教育係によって礼儀作法を学びます。観ていて「赤毛のアン」のマリラや「アルプスの少女ハイジ」のロッテンマイヤーを思い出しました。そして斎部秋田によってかぐや姫と名付けられます。予告編でも使われていた疾走シーンは容姿のことで笑われたときに感情が爆発しています。今観ている「赤毛のアン」でもアンは自分の容姿のことをひどく悩んでいます。この後にヒメは一度死んで月によって時間が巻き戻されます。五人の公達に求婚されて全員に空想の宝物を探させる下りは台詞でもありますが、ヒメ自身が偽りの高貴な姫君であることを示しています。そしてついにヒメは次の十五夜に月に帰らなくてはならなくなります。ここの告白の場面、翁が顔を手でごしごし擦りながら泣くカットでいつも泣きそうになります。ヒメが月に帰った後に月に赤ん坊の時のヒメが映されるのはどういう意味なんでしょう。未だに分かりませんが、いつか分かるかもしれません。竹取物語は日本で最古の物語です。しかも後の物語の構成や技法に繋がる色々な要素が入っていることから、かなり完成度が高いものと言われています。この映画もほとんど原作通りに作られています。ヒメが竹から産まれたのは竹が成長が早く古くから神聖なものとして扱われていたからだそうです。この映画は結果として髙畑勲の遺作になったわけですが、同じく遺作となった今敏の「パプリカ」ととても似ています。まず二つとも今までの監督のフィルモグラフィの集大成のような話です。そして見終わった後の感覚がスッキリ、ではなくモヤモヤしている所も似ています。わざと心に引っ掛かるような違和感を持たせている感じがします。それが人によっては面白くない、という感想になるのだと思います。確かに僕も子どもの時に観ていたら、全然分からなかったかもしれません。

Isao Takahata's specialty is the very objective depiction of the main character who is heading towards a certain fate. After going to the capital, Hime learns etiquette from an educator named Sagami. She watched and she remembered Marilla in "Anne of Green Gables" and Rottenmeyer in "Heidi, Girl of the Alps". ancestor She was named Kaguya-hime by Saibu Akita. In the sprinting scene that was used in the trailer, her emotions exploded when she was laughed at because of her appearance. She's watching "Anne of Green Gables" now, but Anne is very worried about her own appearance. After this, Hime dies once and time is rewound by the moon. She is proposed by five princes and has them all search for an imaginary treasure, but she shows that Hime herself is a false noble princess.Finally, Hime must return to the moon on the next full moon. In the confession scene here, the scene where the old man cries while rubbing his face with his hands always makes me cry. What does it mean that Hime as a baby is reflected on the Moon after Hime has returned to the Moon? I don't know yet, but maybe someday I will. The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter is the oldest story in Japan.Moreover, it is said that the degree of perfection is quite high because it contains various elements that lead to the composition and techniques of the story later. This movie is made almost exactly like the original. Hime was born from bamboo because bamboo grows quickly and has been treated as sacred since ancient times. As a result, this movie became Isao Takahata's posthumous work, but it is very similar to Satoshi Kon's "Paprika", which was also his posthumous work.First of all, both stories are like the culmination of the director's filmography so far. シーンや、翁が姫の初潮に有頂天になっている時の嫗と姫の立ち位置などが文字通り客観主義を示しています。作画についてはむらがあって、姫が都に行って初めて翁と嫗に対面するシーンなどの作画は綺麗ですが、所々翁の目が点だったりレベルが意図的に変えられていると思います。個人的に好きな場面は、姫が5人の公達からの婚約を断り相模から父親が悲しむことを伝えられた後の姫の後ろ姿を少し映して奥に消えるシーンや、花見のあと姫が身分の差を感じもう昔の自分には戻れないことを知って、牛車の中で沈んでいるシーンの編集というか、作画は止め絵なのですがその間が絶妙です。この辺りの展開は高畑勲演出が炸裂していて何度観ても凄いと思います。今回観ていて思ったことは、かぐや姫は実は未来人なのではないかと思いました。一つは姫と相模の問答の時に相模が何故そんなことを言うのかという顔をしていて、これはこの時代の女性ではないのではと思ったことと、最後の最後月に映るかぐや姫の赤ん坊の意味をずっと考えていて、物語が始めに戻り円環しているという表現でもあると同時に、あれは漠然とですが観ている我々の世界に帰ってきているようでもあり、つまり我々と同じ現代からタイムスリップして平安時代に行った女性の話なのではないかと思いました。
